THE STATE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT / THE UNIVERSITY OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK / ALBANY, NY 12234 Office of P-20 Education Policy |
The New York State Education Department (SED), Office of Child Nutrition Program Administration, will host multiple training sessions to provide guidance on the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) for returning Summer Food Service Program sponsors and potential new sponsors.
Sponsors that are new to the SFSP must complete the Potential New Sponsor Summer Food Service Program Training for their application to be considered complete. A webinar for Potential New Sponsors will be held on March 26, 2025, and in that webinar, SED will review how to complete the required training courses in the Child Nutrition Learning Management System (LMS).
Experienced sponsors (sponsors that operated in 2024) can either register for a webinar on April 8, 2025, or complete the 2025 SFSP Updates training in the Child Nutrition Learning Management System.
SED is committed to providing on-going training and technical assistance to Child Nutrition Program operators. The Office of Child Nutrition set up an online Learning Management System (LMS) in 2024. If you do not have an account, you can request access to the LMS by completing the request form. The LMS contains many courses, including: Sponsor Financial Viability, Capability and Accountability, Civil Rights, and Non-Congregate Meal Service.
The LMS is open for training. The LMS tracks the trainings you have completed and updates CNMS when your mandatory SFSP training has been completed.
