USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) recently released SFSP 01-2019. This memo rescinds six waivers previously granted to the Summer Food Service Program in response to a recent audit conducted by the Office of Inspector General (OIG). These flexibilities will no longer be available to Summer Food Service Program Sponsors:

In summary, the rescinded flexibilities will no longer allow Sponsors to:
- • Waive site visits during the first week of program operation
- • Utilize Offer Verses Serve unless they are a School Food Authority (SFA)
- • Qualify closed enrolled sites for the summer food program using area eligibility
