In accordance with 7 CFR 245.10, each School Food Authority (SFA) participating in the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, and/or the Special Milk Program with the free milk option must have an approved free and reduced-price policy statement on file with the New York State Education Department (SED) that describes the SFA’s free and reduced-price policy. All SFAs, regardless of Community Eligibility Provision or Provision 2 status are required to maintain a free and reduced-price policy.
SED will use the SED Monitoring and Vendor Performance System (SEDMON) via the SED Business Portal to collect all policy statements and supporting documentation.
All SFA SEDMON delegated administrators received an email on October 3, 2022 that provides step by step instructions on submitting the Free and Reduced Price Policy Statement through SEDMON. The email includes instructions on how to entitle and/or create an account for individuals who will be responsible for uploading the Free and Reduced-Price Policy Statement.
All policy statements must be submitted to SED by January 13, 2023.
