Child Nutrition School Meal Program Training Opportunities

Summer 2025 Training Opportunities for Child Nutrition Program Professionals

The New York State Education Department (SED) remains committed to supporting Child Nutrition Program operators through high-quality training and technical assistance. While our annual 4-week summer intensive training on professional cooking and managing Child Nutrition Programs has been postponed for 2025, a variety of valuable training opportunities will still be available throughout the summer.

Summer Training Opportunities Include:

  • Master Instructor-Led Trainings:
Extensive in-person trainings are available upon request through our Master Instructor Network. These sessions are tailored to meet the needs of local school food service professionals and cover a wide range of operational and culinary topics. To learn more and to request training, visit the Master Instructor Network Website by clicking here

  • Farm to School Regional Meetings:
SED will be coordinating regional Farm to School meetings this summer, which will include hands-on culinary training components. More details, including dates and locations, will be announced soon.

  • NEW Learning Management System (LMS):
In the coming months, SED will launch a new Learning Management System designed to provide guided, on-demand trainings. This digital platform will enhance flexibility and access for school nutrition professionals seeking to meet their annual Professional Standards requirements.

General questions related to any training opportunities may be submitted to CNTRAINING@NYSED.GOV.

Please note that training schedules and opportunities may be updated periodically. To receive the latest training announcements and updates, be sure to subscribe to the Child Nutrition LISTSERV.
